Case Study: GMP Energy Innovation Center

Green Mountain Power was recently named Utility of the Year for its innovative development of alternative energy. As part of their vision of a sustainable energy future for VT and their commitment to community revitalization, they had purchased an empty, signature building in a struggling downtown. The progressive utility chose us to tell the story of the region’s energy future by creating an alternative energy museum to educate both children and adult consumers about renewables.

Working together with CEO Mary Powell (POWER-GEN’s 2014 Woman of the Year), we created a dozen interactive displays, walls of storytelling and images, two educational film kiosks…even a life-sized, talking animatronic cow to teach about Cow Power. Virtually every aspect – messaging, design, photography, displays and films was created and produced at The Imagination Company’s facilities. Our work was featured on NBC, USA Today, NPR & HuffPo and has been visited by US Energy Secretary Ernest Monitz and other industry leaders from around the world.

“The Imagination Company, is a cross between an amusement park ride and a marketing firm. They are a fascinating company with an incredible breadth of skill on everything from web design, advertising, and copywriting to video and display production.”  – Steve Costello, VP
