As part of an effort to enhance Rutland City’s image and help build growth in the historic downtown, we were brought in to provide branding strategy and creative storytelling as well as research, development consulting and oversight.
Over the period of a year, our work included a regional TV campaign “Rutland Is” that celebrated the vitality and strength of the community and its businesses. The campaign was showcased in social media and on DRP’s homepage, and was widely celebrated and featured in a WCAX news story, VPR and other media outlets. We also produced a film highlighting the people, culture and lifestyle that the city offers visitors and residents.
As an individual focus, we worked to build a brand around downtown Rutland’s unique and growing foodie culture. The result was a TV spot for regional advertising called “Dinner in Rutland”. In addition to a pair of great performances by McKenna Lee and Jamie Willis, the spot featured top chefs shot on location at a range of the city’s restaurants.
Another of our responsibilities was several months of research, site location and creative development for a children’s museum downtown. In addition, we worked with community and board members, presented our vision to aid in fundraising for the museum, and partnered with General Electric to bring the project forward.
